Our Story

Brian’s Journey Inc is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to helping the homeless, foster children, and men/women suffering from addiction.

Brian’s Journey Inc was founded after the loss of our beloved Brian Scott Workman who passed away from a Fentanyl Overdose. Brian was born in Jacksonville, Florida on October 10, 1988, to his loving parents, Todd Wainwright and Malena Workman.  He was raised in Callahan, FL, in Kingsland, GA for his early teenage years and in Tampa for his senior year of high school.  He graduated from Falkenburg Academy and started his longtime career in the construction industry.  Brian was proud to earn his Welder’s certificate and enjoyed working for Hal Jones Construction, Jims Concrete of Brevard, Unions of Carpenters, along with several independent contracts.  Brian was most passionate about fishing.  He loved being on or near the water and enjoyed fresh and saltwater fishing.  Brian also enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.  He lived his best life these last few months, while attending Teen Challenge Jacksonville Men’s Center.  Brian was growing in his faith and also pursuing a better path for his life. Brian never met a stranger, had a heart of gold and was always willing to help those in need.  He was greatly loved and will be forever missed by all who knew him.

*We found out shortly after Brian passed that he was on the baptism list to be baptized. We know we will see Brian again one day but until then Brian’s Journey will live on through many others. May his story be a Testimony for others and may his story bring Love, Faith and Hope to those who may be struggling with loosing a loved one to the drug epidemic. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord!”
